Wow, cool task of the animation! Looks pretty natural so far. I have only three points:

1. The camera starts to slide a bit earlier so the audience can't notice his wamble from the left to the right. I think that better to delay the camera, it will show that even camera not drives but follows to his motions (wow, this guy unpredictable, what's he doing?)

2. When he decided what the bottle to choose I think his motions too clear for drunked man: his eyes changes the point at each hand motion, the hand moved a bit even.

3. Before he catch another bottle he moves a little broader, but in my observation drunked peoples at this moment like a kids, they try to be concentrated so awkward and try to fix their balance.

Hey, Mathias! The funny in animate a drunk I think is to deal with balance-unbalance. I?m self student, so I?m doing my best, with your help I hope to reach the right drunk movements. Thanks!

Hey, Fabis!

1-Nice tip about the camera.. I realise, now you said! I?ll change it. By the way, how you guys, professional animators deal with the camera: it already comes ready decided from art department or it is an animator?s task? I think I made a mistake to set the camera after the blocking.... noob I am... kkkkkk

2-The hand?s movement was a... well... lazy copy and paste of pose keys... Just to define the story and see if it works. I intent to make it not so even.

3-I think I understand your point: to catch the bottle, he throws the hands, maybe too confident and abrupt movements to a drunk. I tried to add imprecision when he miss the left hand try and just get the bottle on the second try. But I don?t know if I can give him a less broader movement and keep the unprecise aspect for the arms movements...

Thanks for comment!

I?ll post soon some progress.

I'm not a pro animator, but I know that in big studios the art department really responsible for the camera, since before 3d stage there is storytelling pictures, thumbnails, sketches, 2d animation, etc. so the animator needs to fit the life and entertaining animation in this scheme, but I sure that in some cases the cam is needed to be corrected and also the animator must know the staging theory and other camera stuff in order to understand why this camera placed in this way, what is the benefits in this way. So he can not just to animate, but understand the idea to develop the art director's conception. For instance, this man can hang on the wall, he's in the center of the camera view and then he looks to the bottom right and smiled (nobody know why), then the camera rolls back and... ta-dam!.. the bottle appeared in the bottom right corner, so the audience realize what he smile for. The camera is a great tool, so since you're student you can use it as you wish, but in order to develop your animation.

Precisely, and there is opportunity to make it more funny to show his like a kid trying to take the pacifier

I understand, but hey, you can use the timing even in the blocking like this:
key--key-key--key---key instead of
key--key--key--key--key

Hope it will help you. Keep it up!

Definitely a good start, one thing that may be helpful is something I read from the animators survival guide. Drunk people sometimes try to act sober to make other people think their sober (they just cant pull it off because of their stupor)

Hi, All!

I forget to say the idea of this exercise comes not only grom CGTalk, but from this site also, from sketch exercise for a man finding a bottle.  Cool

Fabis: Thanks for critique, they?re helping me a lot.
About the "ta-dah!" idea, I tried, and fell this way the bottle gain too much importance. So I chose to keep it under the drunk man in importance hierarchy. But I think I get the idea of use for the camera. But I?m still working on it... Undecided

Brandon: Thanks for incemptive and for sugestion, but I could not fit this idea in the story. Maybe because to try to seem sober while drunk demand another character to make sense. In this case, he?s alone and not worry about what someone can think about him, and he?s toooo drunk, beyound the point he could want something. He just want to be stand to be able to reach another full bottle.

This is a little update, with more blocks poses and some camera changes. I hope the poses make the story clear. As always, any C&C are welcome:
