Hi everybody, i had some questions for you.

I have create a rig and my facial animation is based on shape. So i made a new object where i put all my shape parameters with vustom parameters.

My problem is to organise those custom parameters. XSI put all the parameters in vertical but i d'like to organise them like a head to make the animation easyer.

If you have some idea you're welcome! thanks!  Wink

hello again! Today i have search a little more to create my onw layout of parameter and i found a part of my answer. It is made by ".spdl".
But i don't know how .spdl work. It seem we can generate  a code who's link spdl with parameters.
It look like this : Guid   = "{0AEBD421-EE4D-821E-B3BA-6E8AC694D368}"
or this Reference = "{AFB12429-A9E3-444F-B75A-C164E0A460F2}";

But i don't know how generate those codes. Anyway if you have any information about spdl for parameters (not for shader) it will be save me! thanks! Smiley

hey CyrilDesign!!! welcome to The lounge!!!!

I'm sorry not to be able to help you, I don't know XSI at all!!!  Wink but keep posting, some might be interested.

And especially if you decide to post your rigg on AL Tongue

BTW would it be ok with you if I move your post in the 3d Software board? here it's more about technique for the animation.  Wink

After many searches i finally find what i whant to do.

In fact it was simple, i have found the SDK explorer (in view / scripting / SDK explorer)
and when you clic on a custom parameter set and you go on the advance panel of the SDK explorer.

then you find the GUID ID who is the reference you have to copy in your spdl to link with the custom parameter set.

Create your own codes parameters and panel to create a menu with differents Tab and group.

Finally  go into the plugin manager and install your spdl.

Done.
Now when you clic on your custom parameter set you have your own menu.

i hope this post will be helpfull

Good night everybody! and thanks for your answer Mathias! Cool

no problem about the rig... It's always better to ask!!!  Grin

But feel free to post anything about animation, even done on XSI, the principle of animation is the same on any 3d software, not like rigging!!!

Finally it wasn't the right way to create your menu with spdl

In fact all the parameters are create by the spdl

The GUID ID is also for the custom pararmeter set.
First you have to create acustom parameter set in XSI. Select it, then copy his Guid ID from th SDK explorer then past your guid ID in reference of the head of the script like this

SPDL
Version = "2.0.0.2";
Reference = "{GUID ID}"

Then you have to script your parameters in the spdl and generate one GUID by parameter
You can do this by the script editor. Turn the preference to vb script and genrate GUID with this code : Application.LogMessage XSIFactory.CreateGuid

When you've done all your parameters and layout in the script, save your spdl and install it with the plugin manager.

Now look into your custom paramter set, the spdl have create all your parameters

Now you can link your parameters normaly.
